Give us the details! Tell us a bit about you and the story behind Keeper Beauty Co.?
I founded Keeper Cosmetics and Keeper Beauty Co. for today's woman. No matter what her story is, she is busy!
As we age, our skin and bodies change. It can be hard to love ourselves, and complicating a basic need as caring for your skin is not helpful. Skincare should not be overwhelming or confusing.
As a busy woman, multiple-step beauty systems with endless "must have" skin products did not work for me. I wanted a beauty system that complimented and supported the simplicity of my green life. I knew I was not alone, so I created Keeper Beauty Co. For us.
At the core of Keeper is a deep love for our planet. We realize in order to love and respect our planet, we must first understand that we are one with nature and that we are nature. In the growing Green community, Keeper Beauty Co. is proud and humbled to be your go to for minimalistic beauty.
If Keeper Beauty Co. were a person, how would you describe them?
Keeper is a person. A Keeper takes Care!
We are all Keepers. Keepers of self, Keepers of others and Keepers of our planet. Simplifying our lives helps us see this clearly and become better Keepers. Through natural beauty, the Keeper brand promotes self-love and self-care because when we love and take care of ourselves, we can extend that love to others. When we truly care for others, loving and caring for our planet comes easily and naturally. That is the Keeper way.

What is your biggest accomplishment as a brand so far?
Using Maple Leaf Extract as our hero ingredient is a source of pride at Keeper Beauty Co. It has brought so much joy and laughter. We never anticipated the conversations around maple extract and skincare. Our products have been received well and continue to inspire local ingredients in skincare.
We have been able to highlight a quintessentially Canadian ingredient that not only does wonders for your skin but induces feel-good feelings and a sense of belonging. No matter what your Canadian story or background, maple extract in skincare evokes the same sense of pride that our customers want to share with their loved ones. That alone is worth every minute of what we do.

What is the best sustainable swap have you made in the last year?
Although we did our best to be mindful of the importance of keeping suppliers local, it wasn't easy for a new business, and we often had to import most of our materials to stay affordable.
In the last year, we have been able to turn that around. We worked hard to forge relationships with local businesses and make local work. We are able to offer locally made recyclable, biodegradable and plastic-free shipping materials. We will continue to learn and seek more sustainable ways to become better citizens and guardians of our planet.

Fast forward five years - what is next for Keeper Beauty Co.?
Keeper Beauty Co. is growing steadily, one Keeper at a time. Looking forward, we will continue to be ambassadors and students of sustainable clean beauty. We have excellent products, and we are very excited for our next chapter. We are on a mission to help women across Canada and beyond embrace a less is more and feel-good approach to beauty. We want women to fall in love with taking care of themselves every day by keeping beauty simple. Our products are packed with undiluted natural and organic ingredients that last longer. They are simple to use, they take less space in the bathroom and best of all, they work.
