Beeswax wraps, set of 3, 100% cotton (up cycled)
Three beeswax wraps in three patterns and sizes, 13x13, 11x11, 8x8.
Cotton (up cycled), reusable, anti-bacterial, biodegradable, eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap.
The small wrap is good for covering a mug, small bowl, a cut fruit or vegetable, or a handful of nuts. The medium wrap is good for wrapping a sandwich, cut veggies, or to cover a bowl or 10x10 pan. The large wrap will cover a large dinner plate, bowl, a bread pan, or glassware up to 12x12.
Simply shape the wrap around the edge of a container, or directly around food and use the warmth of your hands to make the wrap adhere to itself. It can now be taken with you or put in the fridge for later. the medium wrap works for a sandwich or snacks or other food to be wrapped and taken to school or work or elsewhere. The only food that should not be used with them is meat as the wraps cannot be washed with heat. But they are excellent for wrapping cheese and other foods. Especially good for vegetables the break down very quickly in plastic wrap but the breathability in these wraps keeps the vegetables fresh longer.
Beeswax wraps from 100% cotton (recycled fabric) soaked in a mixture of local beeswax, pine rosin and organic jojoba oil to create an eco-friendly method of food storage. They are a reusable, breathable, anti-bacterial and biodegradable alternative to plastic wrap that should give you about a year's use, depending on how you wash and handle them. Once the cotton is worn out it is biodegradable unlike plastic.
To wash, spot clean using cool or cold water, then hang to dry. You can use a mild detergent if you need to. They can be used over and over again. Avoid all heat sources like oven, microwave, sunny window, radiator, hot car etc. as the beeswax will melt. Pine rosin and beeswax have natural anti-bacterial properties.
Since the fabric is recycled the patterns and colors used are always changing so examples here may not be the exact fabric you receive.Â
