This blade spatula is robust enough for turning heavy to light ingredients in cooking or serving, and feels smooth, calm and reliable in the hand. It may have a contrasting wood for the haft (handle area). They really are meant to be held and used. The makers sources the blade/core wood locally from legacy-cut woods, and occasionally from commercial lumberyards. They strongly believe in the re-use of once-used timbers, culled from old houses, barns or broken furniture and use these sources whenever they can. It gives the piece a life and history it would not otherwise have. These spatulas are 12" in length, and are finished fully food safe for any kitchen application.
